Pete Tong calls them a rarity and ODESZA count their previous album among the best they've heard in a decade, but odds are you're unfamiliar with Australia's Rüfüs Du Sol. That is, until Solace. Poised to take the California-based Australian band to the next level, Solace is being touted by critics as the album that will bring their music to the masses.

Recorded in Venice Beach, the band's latest release is a stunning exhibition of the ethereal electronic music that gave rise to their early success. Anchored by the honeyed vocals of Tyrone Lindqvist, it explores newfound samples (the band is purported to have divested of all their previous ones prior to recording Solace), and drives home one emotive soundscape after another to deliver an album that flows seamlessly from start to finish.

Solace artfully captures the emotional, spiritual and musical growth of the band, and leaves listeners yearning for more. Among the album's beautiful tracks, "New Sky," "No Place" and the title track stand out to showcase the potential of Rüfüs Du Sol's magnetic presence. In their continual search for the sweet spot between the highs of dance music and the depths of introspective electronic, the band has achieved a rare balance that speaks to their maturation as artists.
