Back in November 1984, Queen released a holiday track called "Thank God It's Christmas." Now, that song has received a brand new animated video care of Brian May and Roger Taylor.
The Justin Moon-directed video comes as a collaboration between May and Taylor, as well as producer Drew Gleason. The song itself was a rare, joint writing effort between May and Taylor, who describe the song as a celebration of the holiday season.
Taylor elaborated in a statement:
Ironically, Christmas tends to be such a stressful time for so many of us. So many emotions, joyful memories of past Christmas' as delighted children and responsible adults / parents. It's just a great relief when it finally happens.

The video goes a little further by including a subtle reminder that we as humans now need to feel a responsibility for the welfare of ALL creatures on Earth - not just for our own benefit, and that of our grandchildren, but out of respect for the rights of the animals themselves.
"Thank God It's Christmas" spent six weeks on U.K. music charts in the winter of 1984 into 1985. Later the song was featured the band's 1995 studio album Made in Heaven.
