Quebexico

R.I.P.

Am I too late? It appears so as the misleading assortment of Ontarians called Quebexico have decided to call it quits after three years to pursue other projects like Teenanger, Male Nurse and Million Dollar Marxists. But the cacophony these dudes created was pretty sweet, so why not give them the eulogy they deserve. Beginning as a joke, which according to the band they "luckily never seemed to shake,” Quebexico will forever be remembered for their impulsively calculated approach to punk rock, an interesting selection of influences (A.D.D, minimalism, party hats and puns) and an extremely expired and rarely updated website. (On top of that, they have a tune called "Danza,” which I absolutely refuse to accept as anything but a tribute to my man, Tony! Eh,oh, oh eh!) It appears their one and only full-length, Relationship With A Man, Relationship With A Man never got the attention it deserved, and that’s a shame, because the band’s raucous attempt at holding together their hardcore punk’n’roll resulted in quite the melodic trainwreck. Too bad, so sad, but hopefully when they’re all old, fat and bald, they’ll reunite and let us experience the Francophony hysterics once again.
