Published Feb 12, 2013Heartfest, Canada's largest hardcore festival, has finally announced the lineup for the 2013 edition — the fest's seventh year. Despite the event's reunion of Canadian hardcore band Risky Business, Heartfest will be far from just a national affair when it takes place from May 3 to 5 in Gatineau, QC. In addition to the Risky Business reunion, Boston's Guns Up! are getting back together for Heartfest.
Other notable hardcore bands such as Alpha & Omega, Code Orange Kids, Homewrecker, Reign Supreme, Shipwreck AD, This Is Hell and Wisdom in Chains will hop the border, in addition to a yet-to-be-named headliner.
The first day of the festival will ease attendees into it, with a lineup focusing on softer emo, pop punk and rock sounds. Although this day's headliner is not announced yet, Handguns, Adventures and Pentimento are some of the day's highlights.
Many other bands, including Canadians such as Exalt, Safe to Say, Old Rules and Uplift, round out the bill. The full lineup and schedule — in addition to ticket information, when it goes live — is available here. Three-day passes will be available for $40.
Proceeds from the fest will go to Le Gîte Ami, a local homeless shelter in Gatineau.
