Puya

Union

BY Greg PrattPublished Aug 1, 2001

The cool lyrics almost make me not want to completely trash Union (Puya's second full-length), however, the album still sucks enough that it deserves to be trashed. This is yet another CD in a (very) long line of bandwagon hopping, money-grubbing nu-metal discs. Check out opener "Ride" for the full scoop - Soulfly meets Fear Factory. Are their attempts to incorporate Caribbean culture in their tunes a genuine attempt to pay respect to their origins, or is it a case of "hey, it worked for Sepultura"? I'll give them a slight, reluctant nod of the head for the positive lyrics, but otherwise, forget about it.
