Pusha T, Oneohtrix Point Never, PUP and Shad Lead This Week's Can't Miss Concerts

BY Peter SanfilippoPublished Jan 30, 2014

In Canada, we tend to get fewer shows from bigger artists than other countries. We only get so many chances to see a band or artist before they plunge into the United States or hop a plane to parts unknown. That's why here at Exclaim!, we do our best to get you all the info you need so you don't miss any of the shows coming your way. Here are a few highlights for the week of January 30 to February 6; don't forget to come back every week for even more Canadian concert suggestions.

Brrrrr! Festival

The 2014 instalment of Brrrrr! Winter Music Festival, Toronto's coolest arts celebration, is fast approaching. The boldly-timed outdoor festival will feature art displays and performances by Wolfgang Gartner, Sharam, Bass Jackers, Hot Since 82, Henrix and many more at TD Echo Beach and the Corona Technodome. Remember to bring a coat!

Oneohtrix Point Never

Fans of Daniel Lopatin's experimental project Oneohtrix Point Never will get a chance to see him live when he performs at The Fortune Sound Club in Vancouver. This will be the only chance for Canadian fans to see him for a while, however. After this show, he will be continuing his tour through the United States.

PUP

Toronto pop-punk quartet PUP will be dropping by their hometown to play a show at the Garrison. Their performance on the 31st will be the second last chance for Canadian fans to see the band on this tour, only stopping in Montreal on the 1st before taking off for a handful of dates in Europe.

02/01 Montreal, QC - TRH-Bar

Pusha T

As part of the Canadian leg of his tour, rapper Pusha T will be performing at the Union Hall in Edmonton on the 30th before heading to Toronto for a show at the Danforth Music Hall. Catch the rapper playing tunes from his acclaimed My Name is My Name.

Washed Out

Finally, Ernest Greene's chillwave project Washed Out will be splashing its way into Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom on the first of February. West-coast fans of Greene's dreamy synth-pop will want to take this chance to see Greene and co. as they bring his lush sound to organic instruments.
