Pusha T

"King Push" (video)

Barring any last minute mix-up, Pusha T's long-awaited My Name Is My Name drops October 8. He's released a few pre-release singles as it is, but the G.O.O.D. music member is fully staking his claim to the throne in the new video for the set's "King Push."

The beat, oddly enough provided by Kanye West and actor Joaquin Phoenix, is unbelievably murky and riddled with pitch-shifted vocals, spooky synths and an austere boom bap. Pusha, meanwhile, lays out his hip-hop M.O., namely that of rapping about the trap ("I don't sing hooks").

His colourful wordplay also calls out phonies, maybe takes a dig at Jay Z, and has Pusha dubbing himself the "black Zack De La Rocha" for consistently raging against the machine, apparently.

The video is pretty barebones, and just finds T rhyming and dancing on a soundstage. You can see it down below.
