Late last night (May 30), Drake broke his silence in the wake of Pusha-T's eviscerating diss track "The Story of Adidon" to provide context for the song's cover art, which shows the Canadian rapper in blackface. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Pusha has now refuted the star's claims.
In an appearance on Big Boy's Neighborhood on Los Angeles' Real 92.3 this morning, Pusha said of Drake's explanation, "That doesn't change my view at all... You are silent on all black issues, Drake.... You don't stand for nothing, you don't say nothing about nothing."
Pusha continued, "You have all the platform in the world. You were so passionate back then? No you weren't. That's number one. That's what I know."
Drake had revealed in a statement posted to Instagram that the photo in question was from a 2007 project about "young black actors struggling to get roles, being stereotyped and type cast."
Drake added that the image specifically pertained to a segment of how African Americans used to be "wrongfully portrayed in entertainment." You can read his entire statement here.
Drake has yet to respond to "The Story of Adidon," in which Pusha-T claimed the Toronto rapper had fathered a child with ex-porn star Sophie Brussaux and took aim at longtime Drake producer Noah "40" Shebib being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
