Pupils

Pupils

Taking their cues from a seemingly unending parade of punk rockers looking to do the solo acoustic thing, Dan Higgs and Asa Osborne (from noise mongers Lungfish) trade in the rest of their band for a stripped down and ultra lo-fi songwriters' showcase (it should be noted that Lungfish is still ongoing). With its laid-back tempo, tinny guitar sounds, rudimentary drum machine accompaniment and scratchy vocals, Pupils is equal parts Dashboard Confessional and Tom Waits. It will be interesting to see how this little experiment impacts on the sound of their fulltime band.
