The Provincial Archive

"The Market" (video)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Sep 17, 2014

The Provincial Archive's song "The Market" is a fairly laid-back indie rock tune, but the video is teeming with tension and intensity.

The clip for this bouncy, horn-spiked track shows frontman Craig Schram robbing a market and running away wearing a balaclava. He eventually ditches both the mask and his bag of loot, but that doesn't stop the very pissed-off store clerk from pursuing him with a baseball bat.

Schram said in a statement, "Running a half-kilometre sprint and lip-syncing to high-speed archive lyrics was definitely a challenge." It was directed by Dylan Rhys Howard.

This comes from the Edmonton band's It's All Shaken Wonder, out now on Black Box Music. Scroll past the band's tour schedule to watch it below.
