"Don't Go to Anacita"

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Sep 26, 2017

Once again, Protomartyr have given us another sneak peek at their fast-approaching Relatives in Descent. This time, it's the new song "Don't Go to Anacita."

As a press release explains, the song takes place in a fictional town of frontman Joe Casey's invention — "a sort of every town created to catch Casey's ire." The results are a darkened yet scrappy post-punk number heavy on Casey's lyrical storytelling. You can hear it for yourself below.

As previously reported, Relatives in Descent arrives on Friday (September 29) via Domino. If you're in Detroit or New York, however, you can get in on a "pre-release stream" of the album at the Levee and Old Stanley's in Brooklyn, Bumbo's in Hamtramck, or Bronx Bar in Detroit, where you'll find the record playing in actual jukeboxes.
