Though Ontario pro-metal pushers Protest the Hero are set to deliver their fan-funded fourth LP Volition October 29 via Razor & Tie, you can check out all of the whip-cracking action now with a full album stream courtesy of Exclaim!

A press release explains that the band's latest LP, which follows 2011's Scurrilous, was funded by fans through an Indiegogo campaign that met its goal within 24 hours, and eventually yielded over $340,000 to put towards recording and promoting the record.

"The fans responded in a way we could have never expected," vocalist Rody Walker said in a statement. "It really rejuvenated us. It was a breath of new life."

The fans, meanwhile, are being rewarded for their generosity with Protest the Hero's "heaviest and most progressive material," though the album is also apparently spiked with a touch more melody than before.

"The music is still bat-shit crazy a lot of the time, but there's more structure," said guitarist Luke Hoskin. "On our first two albums, I'd play them for friends and they'd say, 'This part was cool but it never comes back!' That was the intention at the time. Now we bring parts back and expand on them."

The record was tracked with producer Chris Adler (Lamb of God). We've already heard raging pitbull anthem "A Life Embossed" and the LARP-approved "Clarity." Now, via the player down below, you can check out other crushers like the anti-homophobia number "Tilting Against Windmills."

As previously reported, Protest the Hero are about to hit the road with UK metalcore crew Architects on a North American tour. You can peep all the show details over here.
