Published Jan 27, 2015Ian Kehoe has been keeping busy post-Attack in Black by releasing albums under his Marine Dreams moniker. His latest LP Producer's Wonderland arrives today (January 27), and you can hear the whole thing right here on Exclaim.ca.
Following up recent releases like 2013's Corner of the Eye and the You've Changed Records 5th anniversary effort Lemon Tree, the new record is an incredibly personal one from Kehoe. While he welcomed musical assistance from friends and former bandmates on his previous releases, this one is a truly solo affair.
"Written, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Ian in his home studio," reads a press release, "Producer's Wonderland is the work of a singular vision and a unique mind."
The songs' inspirations are all Kehoe's own — from the long-lasting friendship written about on "Michael" to the lessons gained from recording Lemon Tree ("Learning Experience") to grappling with uncertainty on "No Use," there's no ambiguity about who made this record.
Filled with the charming, personal pop musings of one of Ontario's finest singer-songwriters, Producer's Wonderland is well worth a listen. It's officially out today through You've Changed Records, and you can stream it in the player below. You can also buy the record here.
Kehoe will also be heading out west with Andy Shauf for a string of live shows, which you can see below. Scroll past the upcoming gigs and hit play to hear the new record.
