Once again, the weekend has rolled up on us, and it's time to sort out just what the hell happened this week. If you're feeling a bit lost, let's all join forces and get our collective shit together via our ever-trusty news roundup.

First off, this week brought its fair share of disappointments, as well as some welcomed news as well. On the down side, Prince let a whole lot of fans down in Toronto, when rumours of a surprise show turned out to be just that: rumours. The Purple One's camp did issue an apology, but the whole incident no doubt left a bad taste in some fans' mouths.

In some other bad news, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was charged in a murder plot after he allegedly hired a hitman, only to quickly have those charges dropped. Also, Refused got into a public spat with their now ex-guitarist, while Ben Weasel took shots at Fat Mike after the NOFX frontman beat down a stage invader. Sadly, longtime Neil Young bassist Rick Rosas also passed away.

In other more positive news, Aphex Twin unloaded a pile of rarities, John Carpenter announced his Lost Themes and science told us what the catchiest songs of all time are.

Finally, in some Exclaim! interviews, we talked to new Gwar frontwoman Vulvatron and Baptists drummer Nick Yacyshyn, who shed light on his new Sumac project with Aaron Turner.
