Last month, Prince's estate blocked a new EP titled Deliverance from seeing release on the anniversary of his death. As TMZ now reports, the estate made the move in hopes of premiering new music through their own reality television show.
The publication reports that, according to their sources, the show will feature family members of the late music icon and focus on how their lives have changed since his passing in 2016. The show is reportedly in development with an unnamed production company, though it has no deal to make it to air at this point.
The Deliverance suit claimed that George Ian Boxill — who co-wrote and co-produced EP's songs with Prince between 2006 and 2008 — signed a confidentiality agreement that stated all of his work with the Purple One "would remain Prince's sole and exclusive property."
Boxill was ordered to hand the music over to the estate, though TMZ notes he's still fighting that order.
