Prince's Backing Band the Revolution Unveil North American Tour, Play Toronto

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Mar 6, 2017

Following a reunion last year in the wake of Prince's tragic passing, his former backing band the Revolution revealed a short string of tribute shows to the late Purple One. Now, they've expanded their plans substantially with a full-blown North American tour.

The band made famous for backing Prince on such iconic albums as Purple Rain and 1999 will now spend much of the spring and summer on the road, hitting a long string of U.S. cities. Among those dates is also a lone Canadian appearance in Toronto on May 21.

"When we played those [first three reunion] shows, I choked up every single night," Revolution member Brown Mark said in a statement. "But now, I'm past that stage of it — now I'm looking at my happy times, remembering being a kid, joining this huge band and starting out a journey in my life I did not ever expect."
