Prince Sued by Former Lawyer for $50,000

Getting sued by your lawyer is the ultimate irony. But Prince isn't laughing, since he's being taken to court by former lawyer Ed McPherson, to the tune of almost $50,000.

The lawyer claims that the Purple One never paid him for $49,987.74 in legal services. According to TMZ, McPherson's complaint says that he made "countless attempts... to resolve this matter."

The lawyer filed yesterday (August 3) in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and stated that he "performed legal services on [Prince's] behalf in an exemplary manner."

Still, McPherson probably shouldn't be too surprised. After all, one of the cases he was hired for was a financial lawsuit from a previous agency.

With lawsuits like this against his name, Prince might want to rethink his plan to give away albums as newspaper freebies.
