Prince Rama Sign to Paw Tracks, Announce Animal Collective-Equipped LP

This Animal Collective hiatus is shaping up to be an incredibly fruitful one. Not only has the band's proposed break resulted in new material from Panda Bear, but it also means a whir of new activity from their Paw Tracks imprint. The latest signee to the label is Brooklyn three-piece Prince Rama.

The band's fourth release and Paw Tracks debut is titled Shadow Temple, and sees them collaborating with Animal Collective's Dave "Avey Tare" Portner and Josh "Deakin" Dibb on production duties. The album was recorded in an ancient church and a cabin belonging to Kurt Vonnegut's grandson.

According to a press release the album references "Asian rituals, Krautrock legacies, chopped and screwed homages, hallucinatory operas, and dance hall psychedelia." In other words, this is mind-expanding material.

Shadow Temple will be released by Paw Tracks on September 14. No album tracks are available yet, but previous material from the band can be streamed on their MySpace page.

Shadow Temple:

1. "Om Mane Padme Hum"

2. "Om Namo Shivaya"

3. "Thunderdrums"

4. "Storm Worship"

5. "Lightening Fossil"

6. "Mythras"

7. "Satt Nam"

8. "Raghupati"
