Prince Playing Surprise Show in Toronto Tonight?

Master of funk Prince has certainly been keeping himself busy over the last month. Simultaneously releasing records as a solo artist and with his band 3RDEYEGIRL, the iconic performer also served as the musical guest on last week's episode of Saturday Night Live in New York City.

Well, now it seems that the Minnesota native may be making a jaunt to his former home of Toronto this evening (November 4) for a surprise performance.

Massey Hall has yet to confirm the guest for a secret show at the venue tonight, but reports are surfacing, rumours are swirling on social media and Prince fans are already lining up at the theatre's box office.

Earlier this morning, 3RDEYEGIRL's official Twitter account posted a since-deleted tweet that read: "4th day of November, we need a purple high: OTNOROT CALLING…" Some are reporting tickets will be available for $10, while Global News is reporting that wristbands will be handed out two hours before the 8 p.m. showtime. Either way, if you want to beat the crowds and snag a ticket, you'd better head out fast.

UPDATE: Sorry, folks, Massey Hall's event promoter has now confirmed there is no Prince show taking place tonight (November 4). That said, rumours are still buzzing he may play Toronto Wednesday, though nothing has been confirmed.

UPDATE 2: Prince's band 3RDEYEGIRL have since issued an apology over the rumoured show incident.
