Ahead of releasing her debut solo album next year, Prince Innocence's Talvi Faustmann has shared a first single from the effort.

Today, the Toronto artist has shared shimmering single "Victim Mentality," which you can take in below. Its dreamy, colourful chord changes are the first taste of Faustmann's forthcoming solo LP Queen Millennia, which she will release as TALVI in 2021.

Faustmann tells Exclaim! that "Victim Mentality" is, "in essence, a love song about an experience I had with someone that made me feel small that I wanted to reclaim."

"It's about how there's foolishness and treachery when it comes to the narratives we apply to love but they're often so much more beautiful than reality," she explains. "I feel bad for the people who can no longer access that foolishness."

Ahead of Queen Millennia's arrival, Faustmann will share a self-directed video for "Victim Mentality" in January. The single was produced by Sam Jackson Willows (Dragonette, Luge, Ruby Waters).

In October, Prince Innocence shared the Joel Ford-assisted "Angelyne," the duo's second single of 2020. Earlier this year, the group's Prince Josh made his own solo debut with The Joy.
