Prince Drops $22 million Bootleg Lawsuit, Teases New Song

Prince was the subject of some rather negative attention when news surfaced the other week that he launched a massive lawsuit that involved suing 22 alleged online bootleggers for $1 million each. Perhaps because of all that, the Purple One has dropped the suit altogether.

TMZ reports that when news of the lawsuit went public, Prince and his team decided to call off the legal proceedings against the fans who allegedly shared footage of his concerts online. The lawsuit was originally filed on January 16 in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco by Prince Rogers Nelson, and the accused used Facebook and/or Blogger to share links to file-sharing services with bootlegged live shows.

As of yet, Prince has not issued any statement as to why he dropped the lawsuit.

In more positive news, Prince shared a preview of a new song "PRETZELBODYLOGIC," which will apparently appear on the new 3rdEyeGirl album PLECTRUMELECTRUM. So far there is no firm release date, but it's expected to arrive in 2014.
