Prince Book To Be Published This Fall
The Artist Formerly Known as Prince and now just Prince is set to break into the book world this fall. Through a new "photographic essay” entitled 21 Nights, the pint-sized pop star will give fans "a rare glimpse into the life, lyrics and mystique of one of the most notable and prolific performers of our time,” according to Prince’s publisher, Atria Books.

The book will chronicle Prince’s 21 consecutive sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena last year with 124 never-before-seen photos by Randee St. Nicholas, as well as Prince-penned lyrics and poetry based on the Purple One’s residency. Also sweetening the deal, the package will include an exclusive live disc entitled Indigo Nights, which is culled from intimate after-hours jams at several small venues.

"We are tremendously honoured and excited by this opportunity to present this lyrical and visually rich book from Prince that captures the spirit and voluptuous sound of his brilliant [London residency],” the publishers said in a statement. "21 Nights is an innovative multimedia book project created by a musical visionary and uncompromising artist, an invitation to experience a side Prince has not revealed until now."

Let’s just hope this side is a lot better than the one in Under the Cherry Moon. Seriously, kudos to anyone who has sat through it all.
