Priests

Streetwalker

BY Craig DanielsPublished Apr 1, 2002

Rochester roughies the Priests are back with their second full-length album, Streetwalker. It’s more of their raw, creepy, early Makers/Seeds sound that made their debut album stand out from the crowd and their Cavestomp 2001 live appearance such a "showstopper"(inside joke: please see internet). Standout tracks include the fiery "Because of You" and the Sky Saxon-ish "Messed Up." There’s a bit more classic ’60s organ chirping away this time around and it sounds great on songs like "House Of Wax." While the Priests themselves admit that individually they aren’t the hottest players around, as a unit they’re more than up for the job of dishing out some good old-fashioned scary garage punk.
