Priestess to Emerge with New Full-Length This Fall, Deem it "the Best Shit We've Ever Done"

You may have forgotten about them, as it's been forever since Montreal-based quartet Priestess issued their acclaimed debut album, Hello Master. But that was actually in 2006, and for a couple of years they were pretty hot shit.

Well, they still are, 'cause anticipation for a sophomore release is intensifying and creating great expectations for something truly mind-blowing. After all, it has taken the group three years to make it.

According to the band, the new, yet-untitled record was done a while ago and was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Dave Schiffman (Anti-Flag, System of a Down). It's just that they haven't gotten around to releasing it yet because they've been busy touring with the likes of Mastodon and Iron Maiden.

Deeming the album "the best shit we've ever done," which says a lot when the only bar to cross is their debut, guitarist/vocalist Mikey Heppner had this to say in a recent statement about the new record: "As you all know, [the second Priestess album] is taking very long to come out. You have to know that it is not what we want; if things would have moved as smoothly as we hoped with the transition from our former label, you would all have been listening to it for a few months already!

"That being said, we are happy to drop a little inside info; the album is being released (in some places) this fall FOR SURE! AND, once that happens, we will be touring the living shit out of it. In the meantime, come out to the shows and hear the new songs the way they're meant to be heard: LIVE!! We're working on the artwork and everything, so you'll be seeing all that stuff soon too."

So, in essence, sit tight. The album still needs a release date and U.S. label.

As of right now, here are the only live dates the guys have lined up:

7/29 Montreal, QC - Foufounes Electriques (free show)
8/15 Chatham, ON - Chatham Rockstock
9/5 Rouyn-Noranda, QC - Petit Theatre
