Porcelain Raft Announces 'Permanent Signal' LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 13, 2013

Italian-born dream-popster Mauro Remiddi released his debut album as Porcelain Raft, Strange Weekend, last year, and now he's overhauled his approach for the follow-up. Permanent Signal is out on August 20 through Secretly Canadian.

This news comes via a newly unveiled album trailer, which shows a payphone beeping off the hook and contains a snippet of droning, unsettlingly ambient pop music.

Last month, Remiddi wrote on Tumblr, "In September, I started recording my new album and the first thing I decided to do was sell all of my instruments. I didn't want this record to sound anything like Strange Weekend so, to avoid any temptation, I sold almost everything... and got few new things. Most importantly, I got a modular synth."

This full-length was previewed with an instrumental EP called Silent Speech, which Remiddi released a couple of months back as a taste of his favourite new tool, a modular synthesizer. Stream that below, along with the aforementioned new album trailer.
