Popol Vuh's 'For You and Me' Treated to Vinyl Reissue by One Way Static

Further amplifying a sudden burst of reissues, spiritual Krautrock pioneers Popol Vuh are once again being celebrated with a new and much-deserved vinyl release. In the wake of the newly released Agape Love-Love and Spirit of Peace reissues, One Way Static is now turning its attention to the incredibly rare For You and Me.

The label has revealed that it will treat the later-period 1991 Popol Vuh album to a deluxe vinyl reissue on August 31.

For You and Me was Popol Vuh's 17th album and was never released on vinyl outside of Europe. Here's how One Way Static describes the upcoming release:

While decidedly new age and world music in sound (with musical elements from the Himalayas, Ireland, Greece and Africa), this album has style and grace, and the updated sonic quality makes it a pleasure to listen to. The light pieces combined with their timeless dramatic signature sound, the majestic piano chords, the profound lyrics and the crescendos of emotions set this album apart from the banal new age mainstream. The authentic Popul Vuh spirituality permeates on every track here, prepare for goose bumps and a divine moment. In For You and Me, they created a more modern day classic, easily their best album of the '90s.

The reissue will arrive as a variety of vinyl variants. There will be 700 copies on black vinyl, while a black and clear swirl vinyl edition will be limited to 300 copies. You can currently pre-order the reissue over here via Light in the Attic and here via Mondo in North America. In Europe, you can pre-order it over here via Transmission.
