Poison Idea Announce Indefinite Hiatus, Cancel All Tour Plans

Portland punk vets Poison Idea have announced they're heading on an indefinite hiatus, effectively cancelling all upcoming tour plans in support of their recently delivered Confuse & Conquer LP.

A press release explains that Poison Idea made the decision after returning home from their European trek, with the band citing the "need to address some health issues and personal matters" as the reason for the break. A short post on Facebook also hints at "unfortunate band behavior" being part of their decision.

As such, Poison Idea have dropped out of an upcoming tour along the U.S. West Coast, and further added that "all upcoming shows for the undeterminable future will be cancelled or postponed indefinitely." On the plus side, they capped the post with "see you real soon."

The announcement comes in the wake of the band issuing Confuse & Conquer, their first proper full-length release in nine years. Issued through Southern Lord, it was the band's first album following the 2006 death of longtime guitarist Tom "Pig Champion" Roberts.

Led by original vocalist Jerry A., who founded the band in 1980, this most recent lineup also featured guitarist Eric "the Vegetable" Olson, bassist Chris "Spider" Carey, drummer Nathan "Skinny" Richardson and guitarist Brandon Bentley.
