Poison Arrows Casual Wave

It’s not quite the stuff you’d expect from ex-members of Don Caballero but Poison Arrows are an imposing musical beast all their own. This four-song collection demonstrates a pretty solid understanding of the entire Dischord Records catalogue and marks a substantial departure from the noise-drenched sound of their last two EPs. Instead of washing out instruments in layers of laptop feedback, the band have pushed their songs front and centre, and the results show a mixture of rhythmic aggression and subtle-to-abrasive guitar work similar to Bluetip or Faraquet, especially on "The Lure of Lore” and understated closer "Frozen Human Satellite.” It’s dark and weirdly catchy, and chances are good that if you dug The Argument, you’ll be all over it.
