Pocket Moog

TOY

BY James KeastPublished Jul 1, 2005

When music genius Bob Moog (rhymes with "vogue") first started constructing the Moog synthesiser, the plug-in based instrument took up an entire room, and required some years of study to fully master. While the mini-Moog and other, more portable versions have evolved since, now you can take home an action figure of the man himself. It was designed by guitarist and artist Archer Prewitt, one-time member of Chicago bands the Coctails and the Sea and Cake, former colourist for Marvel Comics and writer and illustrator of his own Sof'Boy comic. The elegant little Moog comes not only with removable glasses and jacket — for when you need to roll up those sleeves and get to work — but its own mini-mini-Moog. No word yet on a Wendy Carlos doll to keep him company.
