Planned Parenthood Claps Back at Kanye West for His Anti-Abortion Campaign Policy

"Any insinuation that abortion is Black genocide is offensive and infantilizing"

We recently learned about Kanye West's misguided — but enthusiastic — run for president in this year's American election. Then today, West detailed his platform, boasting a number of controversial views including, being anti-abortion, anti-vax and, uh, pro-Wakanda. Now, Planned Parenthood has fired back at his pro-life stance, calling the declaration "infantilizing."

In conversation with TMZ, Planned Parenthood's director of Black leadership and engagement, Nia Martin-Robinson, responded to Kanye's wild policies, countering the artist's views that Planned Parenthood carries out the "Devil's work" and upholds white supremacy through providing healthcare services like abortion.

"Black women are free to make our own decisions about our bodies and pregnancies, and want and deserve to have access to the best medical care available," she said.

"Any insinuation that abortion is Black genocide is offensive and infantilizing," Martin-Robinson added. "The real threat to Black communities' safety, health and lives stems from lack of access to quality, affordable health care, police violence and the criminalization of reproductive health care by anti-abortion opposition."

As TMZ points out, West's policy falls in direct contrast to his wife Kim Kardashian's historical support of the organization. However, it should be noted that Kardashian has yet to update her support of PP in the period since the family became more forthcoming with their religious beliefs
