As previously reported, ear-shatteringly loud Brooklyn-bred shoegaze band A Place to Bury Strangers, recently signed themselves away to a new home at Mute Records. Although at the time the band was keeping quiet on the details of their upcoming album, such is not the case anymore.
On October 6, APTBS will defend their title as New York City's "loudest band" with the release of their sophomore album titled Exploding Head. (We know, our mind was just blown there too.)
And with a title like that and with label mates like Depeche Mode, Nick Cave and Liars (who aren't easy acts to follow), APTBS fans are going to be expecting especially pleasing noise distortion and drone. And if somehow they don't end up delivering on album, maybe they will live when they head out on tour this fall and hit up Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto, as well as a whack of U.S. cities.
