This Toronto, ON four-piece play a brand of rock that harkens back to Revelation Summer-era DC hardcore. There's a strong nod to Fugazi, as the roaming drums and rock-solid bass interweave with jangly guitar melodies and raw, half-yelled/half-sung vocals. The vocals of Heidi Hazelton and Lee Sheppard sound like a cross between Ian Mackeye and Amy Pickering, creating a sense of cathartic desperation tempered with quality lyrics and a sometimes unconventional, but nonetheless valid, sense of melody. This is a strong debut and definitely worth it if you're in to the old Dischord sound at all.
