Published Jul 15, 2015The esteemed 4AD imprint has just revealed its latest ethereal aural acquisition: 19-year-old English artist Pixx. She's set to issue her label debut, an EP entitled Fall In, on August 28.
A press release notes that Pixx (a.k.a. Hannah Rodgers) has put together a four-song collection of "electronic folk-infused torch songs" for the label. It will first arrive as a digital download, with physical copies due at a later date.
It's further explained that Pixx's musical talents were nurtured throughout her youth, as well as her stint at arts college the BRIT School. The music on Fall In is said to be influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Aphex Twin. Prior to the announcement of Fall In, Pixx had issued the EP's "A Way to Say Goodbye" as an online single.
A video has now been released behind Fall In's title track. The tune mixes haunted but heavenly vocal harmonies and velvet layers of sound with the sight of Rodgers singing the song from a watery coastal scene. You'll find the clip down below, along with the EP's tracklisting.
