Pixies Not Ruling Out A New Album

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Aug 27, 2008

For those Pixies fans waiting for a new album by the wildly influential alt-rock band, there is good news and, you guessed it, bad news. First, the bad: Black Francis and company have not confirmed they are working on a new Pixies album. But the good news is they have not ruled out doing another record either.

"It's just a waiting game right now," Francis told NME. "Whatever we do in the future is gonna have to be fresh.

"I have to see if the band as a whole wants to go into the recording studio for a new record," he added. "That makes sense on some level. For us, there's gotta be an angle. It can't be just playing our old songs over and over."

After breaking up in 1993, the Pixies reunited in 2004 for a massive world tour. Also in 2004 the band recorded and released the new single "Bam Thwok,” but they have yet to follow-up their 1991 swan song, Trompe Le Monde, with any full-length.

For the time being, it looks like you’ll just have to keep those fingers crossed.
