Pixies Announce EP, Premiere Video

The Pixies have followed their summer freebie download "Bagboy" with a surprise EP, which is already up for sale.

The news came late on Monday (September 2) on the band's Facebook page, where they wrote "We have something we would like you to hear !" More specifically, it's a four-song EP available as a digital download, a limited-edition 10-inch and in a bundle with a T-shirt. The record is apparently already in the band's hands, as their web page states that all orders will ship the next day.

The EP artwork, which you can see up above, was produced by longtime visual collaborator Vaughn Oliver. As for the packaging, the record jacket is printed on "heavy, textured card stock," and features a "Fluorescent orange inner sleeve with gold foil emboss." You can find out more about the product over here.

To give you an idea of what to expect from the EP, Pixies also let loose a mysterious and violent video for its "Indie Cindy," a song that features murky, quirky surf guitar hooks and half-sung ramblings from Frank Black. You'll find the clip down below.

UPDATE: A new interview with the New York Times adds that EP-1 is the first in a series of new releases from the Pixies to be issued over the next 15 months.

EP-1:

1. Andro Queen
2. Another Toe In The Ocean
3. Indie Cindy
4. What Goes Boom
