Most of us acknowledge that "Boy's a liar Pt. 2" defined much of 2023, but not everyone agrees. PinkPantheress herself has been thinking 'bout shit that she shouldn't have, admitting that she believes her biggest hit to date isn't that good.
Speaking with The Guardian about her debut LP Heaven knows, the pop star expressed that she constantly feels the need to validate her artistry to others. "With every new height that I achieve, I feel like I have to do something that proves that I'm a serious artist," she said. "Even with 'Boy's a liar': people know me for the song, but I feel like now I have to prove that I can write."
She then said she was surprised the track became the mammoth hit it did. "I didn't expect it to be my biggest song. I thought on an internet level it was going to be big. I didn't expect it to be big on the radio."
This is when she revealed that she doesn't care for "Boy's a liar" or its smash remix featuring Ice Spice, calling both tracks "crap": "The songs that are not my greatest are the ones that do better."
She also claims to dislike her new song "Internet baby" as well, but also shared that her favourite is "I Must Apologize" from her mixtape to hell with it. She also claims to like "Angel" from the Barbie movie: "It was so much fun. I was really excited to be asked. I loved the actual process of meeting the director. I got to meet [producer] Mark Ronson. I went on set."
