Pinkerton Diaries and Alone III Due in March, Rivers Cuomo Reveals

Last October, bespectacled Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo got us excited with news that he would be looking into his past even further with the release of The Pinkerton Diaries and a third edition of the Alone demos series. While the two collections were expected before the end of 2010, they never surfaced. Fortunately, they weren't forgotten, as Cuomo has revealed they will be out in March.

Pitchfork points to a YouTube video uploaded by Cuomo where he shows off proofs of The Pinkerton Diaries. The book looks as if it will feature handwritten lyrics, album notes from the songwriting stage and even some weird drawings. Best of all, there's a typewritten section that mentions Denmark metal monsters Mercyful Fate. The video can be seen below.

No official release date has been set for The Pinkerton Diaries or Alone III, but Cuomo says they will be out in March. It would also be a good idea to keep your eyes peeled for a pre-order announcement, as the first 500 pre-orders of the book will receive a poster signed by Cuomo.
