Pigfish

The Reverand James

BY Rob FerrazPublished May 1, 2001

Hailing from Birmingham, England, this quartet delivers up eight slices of pop punk on their third release. The record's title comes from the Jonestown massacre in Guyana in 1978. Taking their cues from fellow countrymen Snuff, their sound is melodic and occasionally heavy, with hooks that are guaranteed to stick in your head after a few listens. As a mini-LP, it's a tad bit short, at just over 20 minutes. The fact that it leaves the listener wanting more, however, is a good sign of better things to come from Pigfish.
