Remember Piebald? Well, don't feel too bad if you don't. Even though the band broke up only two years back, it's not like they're at the forefront of the collective musical consciousness these days, even with a reunion show announced for May 2, at Rutherford, NJ's Bamboozle. But fans of the Massachusetts-based post-hardcore/rock/emo band and casual listeners who want to take a trip down memory lane, listen up: Rise Records has announced the label will be reissuing several out-of-print albums from the Piebald catalogue.
Here's how this rather massive undertaking is going down: the label is releasing what will be called Piebald: First Ten Years as a three-volume set, with each set being two CDs. Along with the band's first three albums (1997's When Life Hands You Lemons, 1999's If It Weren't for Venetian Blinds, It'd Be Curtains For Us All and 2002's We Are the Only Friends We Have), the releases will be filled up with the usual suspects: live cuts, B-sides and EPs.
The first volume is being released in late April, with the second in May and the third in June. And if that's not enough for followers of the band, the guys have announced they will be playing If It Weren't for Venetian Blinds in its entirety at the Bamboozle gig.
