Phoenix Share New Music and Album Title via Cryptic Teaser

As far as cryptic online teasers go, this is one of the most mysterious ones we've ever encountered. It comes from French pop geniuses Phoenix, who have posted what appears to be a preview of the band's new album on their website.

If you head over to WeArePhoenix.com, you'll see the words "PHOENIX BANKRUPT!" flashing rapidly in different colours. This is accompanied by a brief snippet of music that shifts between moody keyboards and buzzing synths.

Phoenix linked to the teaser on their Facebook page, writing, "photosensitive epilepsy warning." That's probably a wise warning, since the flashing is quite retina-searing.

UPDATE: Well, here you go: Bankrupt! is the title to the new Phoenix album. Mystery solved!

What any of this means is anyone's guess. In any case, here's hoping that Phoenix aren't actually bankrupt and that their album is right around the corner. Reports have indicated that the record is done and is slated for an April release through Glassnote.
