The PG-13s

Get Back

BY Sam SutherlandPublished Aug 21, 2009

This is some fun shit. These guys play pop punk like Screeching Weasel and the Groovie Ghoulies played pop punk: snotty, catchy and just literal enough to be interesting. From love songs about Winona Ryder to love songs about real girls, these are endearingly cheesy, catchy songs that equally recall Honest Don's comps and the romanticism of the seventh grade. Hailing from Ottawa, these guys have a sound similar to fellow capital city pop punks the Creeps, although they've replaced the morbidity with 100-percent lovelorn swooning. With four songs, this seven-inch packs a solid, quick punch and makes you want to listen to the doubled guitar solo on "Sasha Sasha" a whole lot.
