Peter Murphy Unearths Rarities for 25th Anniversary Edition of 'Love Hysteria'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 3, 2013

While former Bauhaus member Peter Murphy's personal life has come under scrutiny in 2013 due to his arrest over an alleged hit-and-run, he'll be putting the focus squarely back on the music with a reissue of his 1988 solo album Love Hysteria. This expanded 25th anniversary edition will come out on November 25 in the UK through Cherry Red Records.

The album has been remastered and expanded with the inclusion of a disc of bonus tracks. The original album appears on the first CD, while the second contains a heap of demos, outtakes and alternate edits. All told, there are 13 extra cuts in addition to the nine-song LP. See the tracklist below.

The set also comes with new sleeve notes, including a new interview with Murphy, plus retooled artwork with photos and memorabilia. Slicing Up Eyeballs notes that music retailer Burning Shed is now taking pre-orders.

In related news, Murphy will be bringing his all-Bauhaus live show to California for a short tour in October. The dates are here.
