Peter Gabriel has been talking about his New Blood project for some time now, from the first hints at revamping some of his classic hits with an orchestra to taking the show out on the road. Fans that weren't able to catch any of those concerts, however, now have something to look forward to in the shape of an upcoming live release and album proper.
While a press release confirms that Gabriel will unleash his New Blood album October 11 via Universal Music, not too many details have been released in regards to the album's tracklist. You can, however, make an educated guess as to which ones will make the cut via the highbrow pop star's upcoming concert flick New Blood Live in London.
A 3D version of the film should be hitting select movie theatres sometime in September, but the movie will also be available in a home version on October 25. The concert doc, which was filmed in high-definition 3D last March at the Hammersmith Apollo in London finds Gabriel tackling his back catalogue backed by a 46-piece orchestra.
Some of the iconic tracks include "Biko," "Red Rain," "Solsbury Hill" and "Don't Give Up," as well as a handful of cover songs from his Scratch My Back period. You can check the film's tracklist below.
The movie will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and a package including both formats and a 3D Blu-ray disc. An extra special edition will include the studio version of New Blood, the DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film, a bonus CD containing highlights of the concert performance and a 60-page hardback book of photos.
