Peter Buck Reveals 'Opium Drivel' 7-inch
Since R.E.M.'s dissolution, Peter Buck has made the most of his freedom by releasing a couple of solo albums, and now he's following these with a new 7-inch EP. Opium Drivel will be out on October 21 through Mississippi Records.

The vinyl plays at 33 rpm, rather than 45 rpm like most 7-inches. This allows extra music to fit on the record, and there are four songs included here. The A-side features the originals "Portrait of a Sorry Man" and "If This Is Love Give Me My Money Back."

The B-side contains two stripped-down demos of the same two songs performed by Buck and auxiliary R.E.M. member Scott McCaughey (also of the Fresh Young Fellows and the Minus 5).

That's the Cramps-saluting artwork above. Buck's prior solo albums were exclusive to vinyl, so it's possible that this also won't be released digitally or on CD.
