Peter Brötzmann Hits Canada on North American Spring Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 20, 2015

Exploratory jazzman Peter Brötzmann is now 74, but rather than slow down in his senior years, the saxophonist will be coming to North America this May for a spring tour.

The outing will last for just over two weeks through the middle of May. In that time, he will play a string of U.S. gigs followed by five Canadian shows. He has dates in Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Victoria and Halifax.

Most of the shows are with a trio lineup that also includes bassist William Parker and drummer Hamid Drake. Three of the Canadian dates are solo performances, however. Check out the North American schedule below, and be sure to note which lineup is performing on each night.

Brötzmann also has a Japanese tour coming up this spring. See those dates right here.
