Pet Shop Boys

"Winner"

As previously reported, English electronic music vets Pet Shop Boys are releasing their next album Elysium in September. We already heard a sneak preview of the set via new number "Invisible," and now the duo have teased the disc again through the new new-age-synths-assisted inspirational anthem "Winner."

The song is reasonably spirits-raising, with Neil Tennant delivering softly sung admissions like "We've been in the running for so long / But now we're on our way" and " I'm a winner / You're a winner / This is all happening so fast."

Considering the lyrical content, not to mention the Pet Shop Boys podium that acts as the clip's only visual, this seems more suitable an anthem for the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games than that oddly ooky new Muse tune. Might we suggest muting your TV and crank a little PSB during the ceremonies?

"Winner" will anchor a four-song CD single and twelve-inch on August 6 before joining its Elysium brethren on September 17. Both releases will arrive care of Parlophone.
