We already knew that Pearl Jam would be airing their Cameron Crowe-directed documentary, Pearl Jam Twenty, on PBS this October. This won't be the world premiere, however, as we've received word that the career-spanning film will get a theatrical release beforehand.
The exact date and cities are yet to be confirmed, but Movieline [via Seattle's 107.7 The End radio station] reports that the documentary will be coming to theatres in September. It's only a limited run, so keep your eyes peeled for the official announcement and don't let this one slip by.
As you probably already know, the film was made as part of Pearl Jam's 20th anniversary celebrations, which also include reissues, a book and a weekend-long festival.
Here's one more Pearl Jam-related goodie. Below, watch a trailer for Water on the Road, the live DVD that will be released alongside Eddie Vedder's Ukulele Songs. The album and DVD officially drop on May 31 via Monkeywrench/Universal. Listen to a full-album stream here and read Vedder's thoughts on the collection here.
