Pearl Jam Counting Down to Monday Announcement with Mysterious Clock
Way back in 2011, Pearl Jam announced that they were halfway done their new album. Since then, band members Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready and Stone Gossard have splintered off to pursue side-projects, but now it appears that their focus may be returning to Pearl Jam, since the band have launched a mysterious countdown on their website.

If you head to PearlJam.com/countdown, you'll see a clock along with the note, "This area will be unlocked once the clock reaches 000:00:00:00." The countdown is due to hit zero on Monday (July 8) at 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT).

The event's Twitter hashtag is #PearlJam2013. The band tweeted simply, "Are you ready?"

What exactly this all means is anyone's guess at this point. Considering that Pearl Jam have previously talked about a new album, however, it's a fair guess to assume that the forthcoming announcement has something to do with that. In any case, all will presumably be revealed on Monday.

Pearl Jam's last album was 2009's Backspacer. Hear the 2011 single "Olé," which may or may not appear on the next album, below.
