Paul Oakenfold Will Be the First DJ to Ever Play Stonehenge

While Stonehenge has greeted thousands of guests — druids and non-druids alike — over the years, the historic UK site has yet to host a fully sanctioned EDM dance party. That's now about to change, however, thanks to superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold.

Like Spinal Tap before him, Oakenfold will soon be gracing the mystic Stonehenge with his presence. In fact, the DJ will be the first artist to ever play live at the site, according to event organizers.

The performance is set to take place in September, and it will be an invite-only event. It's also where Oakenfold will be recording appropriately named new album Live at Stonehenge.

"I am so lucky to be able to share my music from such an iconic site," Oakenfold said in a statement. "The energy there will be like nowhere else on Earth, and this will be reflected in my music and performance. Despite having performed at incredible events and locations all across the globe, sunset at Stonehenge will be the most magical."

That's the flyer for the event up above, promising to provide "eclectic electronic stimulation for the communication generation." All proceeds from the performance will go to English Heritage.
