Published Jun 01, 2010Sir Paul McCartney was given quite the scare after his tour bus was scaled and jumped on following a gig in Mexico City last Saturday night (May 29).
As the Daily Mirror reports, the ex-Beatle was on board the bus when a number of youths rushed it, forced it to stop, climbed on top of it, and began jumping up and down.
"At first his security team thought it was just swarms of fans but when people started scaling the bus, the situation changed in a flash," a source said. Police were called, and a speedy arrival ensured that McCartney was left shaken, but unharmed.
McCartney was back on stage yesterday (May 31), playing a show at the White House in Washington, D.C. As we reported, he'll become just the third musician ever to be honoured with the Gershwin Prize there tomorrow (June 2), with Jack White, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl, Corinne Bailey Rae and, um, the Jonas Brothers all paying tribute.
